Rachael Moore

Founder/Lead Instructor/Fitness Professional 

Rachael has been dancing since a very young age. With 12 years of Gymnastics and Cheerleading under her belt, she has taken ballroom dancing by storm. Rachael started ballroom dancing in 2005 and knew from the first moments that she had a passion for it. Being a coach since she was 15 years old, Rachael knows how to train beginners to advanced students ranging in ages all the way from kids to adults. With her Bachelors in Health and Science from Armstrong Atlantic State University, Rachael plans to use her knowledge and abilities to teach anyone who wants to learn about Fitness and dance or both. Rachael uses her knowledge contributed by Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition to help other thrive in the world of dance and fitness.  She has studied many theorists like Laban/Bartenieff to enhance the programs that she teaches and creates.  She contributes her time to local charities like CASA and Alzheimer's Association that supports dance to raise awareness. She has started a Junior Ballroom Dance Team that competes and showcases in the area of the Lowcountry. Rachael currently competes professionally with her students in Pro/Am divisions. With her dance fitness experience, Rachael has developed a program called, "Ballroom Fit" based off of her expertise in Health and Fitness field pairing with the Ballroom company DVIDA for dance patterns. Her active lifestyle encourages everyone to eat, drink, and live dancing and now mixed with FITNESS! Rachael lives in the area where she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and fur-babies. 

Alfredo Horna 

Master Ballroom Instructor 

Alfredo is dedicated to providing quality dance instruction by bringing national and world renowned training to his instruction, Alfredo is able to offer students top notch choreography and technique.

Alfredo is knowledgeable and teaches all levels from social to competitive in Ballroom, Latin and Country Western dancing. With over 30 years of experience, he is excited for the journey that he has at SdeB! 

Alfredo donates his time to local charities like CASA and the Alzheimer's Association that supports dance to raise awareness for their great causes. 

Alfredo moved here from Columbus, Ohio and lives in Savannah with his wife and dog Lola. 

Christine Shawl

 Adult Hip Hop, Ballet and Jazz Instructor

Christine Shawl has an extensive background in teaching dance over the last 20 years including Ballet, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap and Creative Movement to age’s 3-adults, beginner to professional in private studios, public schools and college programs. Christine is currently adjunct professor of Performing Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) teaching Jazz and taught dance at Savannah Arts Academy for 8 years. Before relocating to Savannah, Christine was adjunct professor at The University of Michigan and Oakland University. Christine also served as the Director of Education for Eisenhower Dance where she managed and directed their two studio locations. Christine performed professionally for 10 years in New York City and in Michigan. Christine received her M.F.A. degree in Dance from The University of Michigan, her B.F.A in Dance, Summa Cum Laude, from Ohio University and is a Certified Movement Analyst through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies in New York City. Christine has dedicated much of her professional career studying and researching the body through Anatomy, Kinesiology, Somatic Studies and Movement Theory to present a holistic approach to dance technique training. Believing that dance can bring great joy to anyone who participates in it she is thrilled to be able to share her passion and love for dance with her students.

Alex Whittaker

Ballroom Fit Instructor and Kids Sub

Alex Whittaker is a Savannah native and has been doing aerobic workout since she was in the womb... yes her mother taught until she was 8 months pregnant. Alex is known for her energetic personality. She has been teaching Ballroom Fit for 3 years now and now she is debuting her teaching Kids Dance and Offsite Instruction. Her main goal in each class is for everyone to forget what is going on around them and enjoy a stress free, great workout! Alex is a high school Spanish teacher and Middle School Cheerleading Coach.  Alex loves to spend her spare with family and friends and playing with her son. 

Darrell Davis 

Hip Hop and Twerkfit Instructor 

Darrell Davis, born in 1983 and learned dance at the early age of 4 years in city of New York until he moved to Savannah GA in 1989. He later than began his study of of dance at the age of 9 by attending to performing arts and magnet schools which allowed him to travel across the US with scholarships and internships while learning various styles. He is well versed at teaching Ballet, Modern, African, Horton, Comtemporary, and various styles in Hip Hop. Now back teaching in Savannah who now teaches Twerkfit here at Salon De Baile he continues on teaching at various ages from Richmind Hill to Statesboro in which he still continues to grow his knowledge and working hard across GA.

Rick Cody

Argentine Tango Instructor 

Rick started his dance career in ballroom and quickly loved the art of Argentine Tango and Swing. Rick has trained with the best in the World for Argentine Tango and loves to share his knowledge with others. He is known for his dry, quick sense of humor and will get your feet moving quickly on the dance floor. 

Rick is only accepting private lessons at this time. 



Issa accidentally fell in love with the practice of yoga when she signed up for a class to support a friend. Curious to learn more, she began the journey of taking teacher trainings in every yoga practice possible and has backgrounds in Kundalini, Hatha, Ashatanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha styles, and has also been certified in trauma informed yoga. She loves exploring poses and making the practice fun and approachable to all. She specializes in Vimana Aerial Yoga, Equine Om, and Stand up Paddleboard yoga through her studio Dynamic Bodhi where she also offers CirqFit classes on the lyra and loves to support charities and animal rescues. Her motto is that yoga should be #personalnotprocedural and strives for diversity and inclusion in her teaching methods.

Shimmy Chic 

Yavanna is a an award winning & dynamic entertainer as well as an experienced teacher and fitness instructor. She sets herself apart by her devotion to excellence as a life long student, competing and performing at renowned events around the country.

She currently studies with world champion Jennifer of Orlando, and Karma Karmelita. She has taken intensives with many of the top names in the field, such as Jillina, Artemis Mourat, Aziza, Azziza Nawal, and more.

Yavanna's passion is in sharing her joy of dance to students, teaching them not just correct technique & posture, but the history, culture & musicality of Middle Eastern dance. With a BFA in Art History, you can be sure of learning accurate material as well as grace, poise, confidence, strength and how to create dynamic performances!

Dyshanell Peek

Kids Hip Hop and Ballet

 Dyshanell Peek has been dancing since she was three years old and for 7 years and attended the magnet program for art students. She graduated with a degree in Visual and Performing arts concentration in Dance at Savannah State University. The genre of dance she excels in is jazz, contemporary, and majorette. She wants to continue with training in ballet, hip-hop, and modern to broaden her abilities and become more flexible with training also in ballroom. She has done voluntary work and attending shows with Obsidian Dance Repertory dance ensemble at Savannah State University shows dancing in the black heritage festival performance for alumni consumed of (jazz, hip-hop, ballet, modern) backstage crew for solar equinox performance, Savannah State university marching band and danced for football games and parades. She belonged to Elements, of Essence dance team where She was captain of the squad, we traveled for dance competitions all over. Consist of (majorette, modern, jazz, ballet) and. She recently created choreography work for a famous up and coming rap artist named Hartbreaak on Instagram to song “SB” which hit one million views on YouTube and is currently working on her thesis show and first time working as a producing artist. Dyshanell is now working with the Instructors of SdeB to spread the word of dance to everyone.
